Honeywell to Provide Ground-Based Augmentation System at Bremen

Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH (DFS) has selected Honeywell to install its ground-based augmentation system (GBAS) at Germany's Bremen airport to enable precision aircraft landings by enhancing the accuracy of GPS signals.

Initially, Honeywell will install a prototype system at Bremen, and will replace it with its production SLS-4000 system after the FAA approves it for category-1 approaches - expected in 2008.

Honeywell says this is the first sale of its GBAS technology.  02-12-2006.
