Honeywell Will Market Mercury Computer Systems' Synthetic Vision

Honeywell will assume sales and support of the Mercury Computer Systems' situational awareness products under an exclusive licensing agreement.

The agreement covers Mercury's VistaNav portable 3D synthetic vision navigation system and its suite of EFB (electronic flight bag) applications.

During flight, VistaNav generates and displays dynamic 3D imagery to aid pilot navigation.  In ground mode, its mobile computer can be used as a tablet PC, running Windows-based aviation software that can help one plan flight routes and save flight plans, as well as download weather information. While the system was developed primarily for the fixed-wing general aviation market, Honeywell believes it can offer applications for helicopters and even for airliners.

Honeywell says it will begin transitioning VistaNav into its product line immediately.  04-26-2008.
