Helsinki to Deploy Thales Multilateration Surveillance System Finavia, the Finnish ATSP (air traffic service provider), has contracted with Thales to install and operationally commission its MAGS (multilateration air-ground surveillance system) at Helsinki's Vantaa airport. Vantaa will use MAGS to provide location information for all transponder-equipped aircraft operating in its movement and apron areas. MAGS is part of Thales' multilateration and ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) product family, which consists of modular building blocks that can be configured to support multiple applications and technical architectures, including ADS-B Out, TIS-B (traffic information service-broadcast), A-SMGCS (advanced surface movement guidance and control system) and wide-area multilateration for air surveillance. 03-31-2008. |
