Hainan Airlines' A330s and B-787s will have Thales IFE

Hainan Airlines has selected Thales IFE (in-flight entertainment) systems for its seven new A330s and for its forthcoming B-787s as well.

Hainan's A330s will be configured with Thales' TopSeries i-4000 audio and video on-demand systems throughout all classes with Thales' new 10.6" widescreen displays in first class and 8.9" widescreen displays in economy.  The first deliveries of Hainan's A330s will start by the end of 2007 and will continue through early 2009.

For Hainan's 787s that will start arriving in June 2008, Thales will install its TopSeries i-8000 audio and video on-demand system cabin-wide.  In first class, 15.4" screens will be used, while economy class will get 10.6" displays.

In-seat laptop power and noise canceling modules for high fidelity audio sound will be available to first class passengers on all Hainan Airlines' aircraft.

Thales also will provide Hainan digital content management services including dedicated program management support during the IFE implementation and continuing support from a Thales service organization located in Beijing.  12-11-2006.
