Flight Explorer's Latest Pro Edition Has New Collaboration and Delay Tools
Flight Explorer (FE) has released a new version of its Professional Edition ASD (aircraft situation
display) system that includes collaboration, airport delay filtering, and quick zoom tools.
The FE Professional
Edition 8.5's new collaboration tools gives flight operations' personnel the
ability to "draw objects" depicting alert or closed airspace areas and "push"
them to all users to guarantee that they will be seen in a matter of seconds. Users can also save a "user-defined view" with the drawing object to a file and
forward it to their pilots and other dispatchers as needed.
Other Version 8.5 additions give users:
-
The ability to set the minimum
airport delay-level to be displayed. Furthermore, they can vary the size of
delay dots by magnitude to make them more or less prominent.
-
New regions of Europe, Asia,
Australia, South America and Africa in the Quick Zoom menu. Furthermore, they
now can define their own specific regions.
-
A new JETNET feature that provides
up-to-date aircraft-owner, operator and key-contact-person information for
almost 30,000 aircraft worldwide. JETNET's data is now fully integrated into
Professional's ORT (online reporting tool), enabling users to view aircraft
information within the FE program, and export the data into Microsoft Excel for
marketing analysis and direct mail campaigns.
-
The ability to overlay Meteorlogix
weather fronts and pressure levels worldwide over a 24-hour forecast period.
-
The ability to view plane rings,
drawing objects, airport-range rings and desktop-interface rings with improved
pixel accuracy, which allows for more accurate alerting and ETOPS (extended
aircraft operations) analysis.
-
The ability to quickly clear Route
Analyzer routes without having to directly access the Route Analyzer feature.
Jeff Scozzafava, Flight Explorer's chief technology officer, said the improvements mean that,
"Dispatchers, ATC coordinators and pilots now have an easier way to ensure that
they are all viewing the same common operating picture and information when
making collaborative decisions that may have a significant impact on their daily
flight operations." 05-03-2008. |
