First Business Jet Equipped with Rockwell Collins' Broadband Internet Service

Rockwell Collins and ARINC Direct have installed their eXchange high-speed Internet communications system on a customer's Cessna Citation X that will enable ARINC Direct's SKYLink broadband service.

According to the companies, eXchange is the only Ku-band connectivity solution available for business jets. The broadband aircraft terminal hardware and the satellite network ground infrastructure is provided by ViaSat and uses its ArcLight advanced mobile broadband technology.

ARINC currently offers SKYLink coverage across North America, most of Europe, and the North Atlantic flight tracks.  It plans to include Caribbean and partial South and Central American coverage in mid-2008, and is considering extending coverage to the Middle East, the Pacific, and Asia.  04-07-2008.
