FAA Certifies Eclipse Aviation's Weather Radar System

The FAA has certified Eclipse Aviation's new weather radar system that was designed by Eclipse and Japan Radio Co., Ltd. (JRC).  JRC will manufacture and supply all radar components for the Eclipse 500 VLJ (very light jet).

Eclipse says the new radar provides equivalent functionality to the 500's existing system on its primary flight displays and integrates seamlessly with Avio NG, the aircraft's integrated avionics and systems management system.

The first Eclipse 500 with the new radar received its certification of airworthiness on February 23^rd.  The new radar will now be incorporated into the Eclipse 500's production lines.  02-29-2008.
