FAA Approves ERA Helicopters' FOQA Program
The FAA has approved Era Helicopters' FOQA (flight operations quality assurance) program. According to Era, its program - which it has dubbed E-FOQA - is the first FOQA program approved for FAR Part 135 operations, and it is the only helicopter operator using the safety tool. Era also is equipping its helicopter fleet with FDM (flight data monitoring) and HUMS (health and usage monitoring systems), and will use Sagem Avionics' AGS (analysis ground station) software exclusively. Ed Washecka, Era Helicopters' CEO, said his company is committed to this technology, saying: "Ultimately we plan to have all of our helicopters equipped with FDM/HUMS." 08-28-2007. |
