Eurocontrol Again Selects COMSOFT for CAMOS
For the second time Eurocontrol has selected COMSOFT as its industrial partner for its
CAMOS (centralized ARTAS (ATC radar tracker and server) maintenance and
operational support service). The first contract was awarded in 2001.
ARTAS is a surveillance element for
almost all European ANSPS (air navigation service providers). Based on the
universal ASTERIX (all-purpose structured Eurocontrol radar information
exchange) format, it makes use of a wide range of different types of sensor
data, such as conventional radar information, elementary and enhanced mode-S as
well as ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) to provide an
up-to-date, error-corrected situation to its users. The ARTAS application
software is free of charge to European Civil Aviation Conference member states
and has gained broad acceptance over the last decade.
Over the last few years,
COMSOFT says it has refined the technology of ARTAS by adding such things as
a Linux system platform and increasing its functionality by including ADS-B and
DAP (downlinked aircraft parameters). The Karlsruhe,
Germany-based company says it's already working on integrating both ADS-C
(contract) and multilateration data processing to increase its value even
further. 09-04-2007. |
