Era Sees Growing Demand for its Surveillance Sensors
Era Corporation says it
has now shipped 1,000 ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) and
multilateration sensors to airports around the world, and
believes it signifies a growing demand for its surveillance technology.
Era delivered what it
describes as "the world's first" multilateration surface-surveillance system
to Prague's airport in 1999. And in 2002, its wide-area multilateration
system was commissioned at the Ostrava Airport - another world's first,
according to Era. And in the past year, the company has won the vast
majority of competitive procurements worldwide for multilateration and ADS-B
surveillance solutions, including Beijing, New York, Copenhagen and Dublin.
Two recent Era sales
include contracts with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ)
and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). For PANYNJ, Era
will deploy its
MSS network of tracking sensors around New York's Kennedy and LaGuardia,
as well as New Jersey's Newark and Teterboro airports. The Authority is
using the system for two aircraft tracking and revenue optimization
projects.
In China, Era will
provide its wide-area multilateration sensors to provide parallel runway
monitoring, as well as surface management solutions for Beijing's
international airport (PEK). Era believes this is the first time that
wide-area multilateration technology be will be used to monitor approaches
on nearby parallel runways. 04-08-2007. |
