Era Receives another Radar Type-Certification

The Slovak Republic has issued a type certification to Era Corporation for its next-generation radar surveillance system, following six months of laboratory and field testing.

The Slovak system was evaluated against reference surveillance systems, such as existing secondary surveillance radar and test-flights by aircraft equipped with differential GPS, and was demonstrated to meet all performance requirements, in accordance with ICAO Annex 10 and Eurocontrol surveillance standards, Era said.

Era notes that a number of ANSPs (air navigation service providers) and CAAs (civil aviation authorities) have certified its systems in recent years - including its MSS multilateration and ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) system - demonstrating that they meet or exceed the required performance standards of traditional radar.  02-14-2008.
