Emirates to Use Lufthansa Systems' Electronic Navigation Charts

Emirates Airline will begin phasing into the use of Lufthansa Systems' electronic charts this spring. The airline's decision follows its recent step to extend the use of Lufthansa Systems flight planning and dispatch system for another five years.

Emirates will start the transition by using Lido RouteManual paper navigation charts while implementing eRouteManual electronic charts on class-1 laptop computers. These will later be changed over to an integrated class-II EFB (electronic flight bag) system, featuring the complete eRouteManual application including airport charts.  The Emirates' unique application also will include Lufthansa Systems' MovingMap en-route charts that display the aircraft's actual position.  02-21-2008.
