Embraer Selects CMC Electronics' Electronic Flight Bag

Embraer will equip its new Legacy 600s, E-Jets family, and Lineage 1000s with CMC Electronics' EFBs (electronic flight bags).

CMC's PilotView EFBs, which are qualified to RTCA DO-160D specifications, feature 8.4" AMLCDs (active-matrix liquid-crystal displays) with "film-on-glass" touch-sensitive screens, along with line-select keys and integrated keyboards, either of which can be used by the pilot to make entries or access software applications.

PilotView also allows either pilot to view what is on the other pilot's display or toggle between the current application and images from video surveillance systems, with the touch of a single key.

The system's display/processor unit also features a wireless connection that is easy to install in a variety of cockpits where space is at a premium, according to CMC.  12-15-2006.
