EMS D&SS to Manufacture and Market Starling Antennas to U.S. Airlines

Starling Advanced Communication has agreed to have EMS Defense & Space Systems (D&SS), a division of EMS Technologies, develop, manufacture and market its new Ku-band airborne antenna system to U.S. airlines for their in-flight satellite-based communications.

Under the agreement, Starling and EMS D&SS will cooperate to supply Starling's new ultra-lightweight (45lb - 20kg), low-profile antenna (diameter 30" - 75 cm, height 6" - 15 cm) that can provide full global coverage with very high-speed data rates.

Starling says the antenna will be very easy to install, and will be suitable for both wide-body and narrow-body aircraft.

EMS DBS (direct broadcast satellite) systems, sold through LiveTV, are already being used for live television on Jet Blue, WestJet, Virgin Atlantic and other airlines.  02-07-2008.
