E&B Helicopters Gets STC for Audible Check Instrument System on Bell 407

E&B Helicopters Ltd. Avionics Division received an STC (supplemental type certificate) for an audible warning system, designed for the Bell 407, to check engine instruments.

The back-up audile system addresses the problem of a pilot pulling too much torque while "long-lining," which can result in major component overhaul costs and down time.  It does this by automatically monitoring engine indicators, and alerting the pilot aurally when limits are approached.

(Long-lining refers to lifting and carrying objects attached beneath the rotorcraft by a long line.)

E&B says the system is cost effective, easy to install, and is easily interfaced with other warning systems.  10-22-2007.
