EASA Makes Flight Data System Design Changes Easier for Teledyne
The European
Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) granted Teledyne Controls the
ability to make minor design changes to its flight data
monitoring systems without specific approval. The agency also
will allow Teledyne to submit changes requiring a STC
(supplemental type certificate) directly to it for necessary
action.
Teledyne says
these new privileges will "greatly expedite" the installation
process of Teledyne's flight data monitoring and recording
equipment on European customers' aircraft.
Teledyne
Technologies received the DOA (design organization approval) for
its office located in Heathrow, England. The approval allows
Teledyne to perform the design, engineering development,
integration, testing and certification activities for avionics
equipment installations on new and existing EASA registered
aircraft. 01-28-2006.
