EASA Certifies AirCell Axxess EZ Satcom for Challengers The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has certified AirCell's Axxess EZ satcom system for use on Bombardier Challenger 600s, 601s and 604s. The Axxess EZ, which was originally introduced by AirCell late last year, was designed to reuse the MagnaStar system's existing aircraft wiring and component locations to reducing installation downtime. EZ also gives operators the option of retaining key legacy system features, such as call alerting and integrated fax capability, when replacing their MagnaStar. The initial Challenger certification was completed aboard a CL-604 aircraft by RUAG Aerospace Services in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. The system is now being offered to Challenger operators with special, reduced pricing available for the EASA certification package, AirCell says. AirCell also says that its satcom systems for several additional aircraft types are in EASA's certification process and should be completed soon. 11-14-2007. |
