Crane to Supply Weight and Balance System on New B-777 Freighter

Boeing has selected Crane Aerospace & Electronics to supply the onboard weight and balance system for its new 777 freighter.

Crane's new technology, called AirWeighs, uses an airplane's landing gear struts as scales to calculate weight and balance measurements in real time.  While the resulting calculation can be used directly, it also can be used to validate manual weight calculations.  03-29-2007.
