Copa Airlines Getting Mechtronix
B-737NG Simulator
Mechtronix
Systems will provide a B-737NG full-flight simulator to Copa
Airlines that will be located at the airline's new flight
training center, opening in Panama City in October.
COPA will get
Mechtronix's Ascent FFS-X
full-flight simulator as well as other elements of
Mechtronix's
integrated training architecture which consists of a B737NG
virtual flight deck and
procedural trainer from its partner, Aerosim Technologies.
According to
Mechtronix, the Ascent FFS‑X can meet 100% of an airline's
recurrent training requirements, with a high level of fidelity,
but at "half the price" of a classic zero-flight-time platform (ZFT
or Level D) and can be located in a standard building. This
means airlines can do all of their recurrent training in‑house,
and eliminate the need to travel to special training centers.
