Continental to Use Sensis Aerobahn Service at Newark
Continental Airlines will use Sensis Corporation's Aerobahn service at Newark to help its ground operations staff
manage surface traffic flows, particularly during periods of abnormal delay. Newark is Continental's second largest hub after Houston where it already uses Aerobahn.
Sensis Corporation's Web-based
Aerobahn collects a variety of data in real time, including surveillance
data from Sensis MDS (multistatic dependent system) and transforms it into
useful operational information.
Besides being used by its hub ramp controllers the Aerobahn will be available at Continental's operations center in
Houston to enable its system-wide managers to make more informed decisions as well.
Continental will use three Aerobahn applications at Newark, including TaxiView, OpsView, and QuickView:
-
TaxiView displays ramp activity such as
push-backs in real time.
-
OpsView is a post-flight analysis tool
that graphically shows operational trends and correlates the visual picture with
comprehensive data available in reports and queries, which can be automatically
distributed to appropriate persons.
-
QuickView provides a real-time summary
of the status of arrival and departure aircraft, and can visually alert
managers when aircraft meet or exceed the pre-configured thresholds.
