Continental Selects Rockwell Collins' Avionics Suite for New Boeings
Continental Airlines has selected a suite of Rockwell Collins' avionics for the 103 B-737NGs and two
B-777s it has on order, including an MMR (multimode receiver) that incorporates GLS (GPS landing system) and LAAS (local area augmentation
system) capabilities.
Rockwell Collins says its GLU-925 is the first
MMR to include LAAS and GPS functionality in addition to ILS (instrument
landing system) and GNSS (global navigation satellite system) capability in
the same unit.
Continental also chose
Rockwell Collins'
HFS-900D high frequency data radio, paired with its CPL-920D digital antenna coupler, to provide for high frequency datalink
applications over oceans, high latitudes and other remote regions.
A full range of sensors,
weather radar and satellite communications, were also included in the
package, which Rockwell described as one of its largest orders from a U.S,
airline. 04-26-2007. |
