Cessna Aircraft selects Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion for Citation Columbus
Cessna will use Rockwell Collins' Pro Line Fusion avionics on its new Citation
Columbus - expected in 2014 - that will include a synthetic vision depiction of
terrain and obstacles as standard, plus a HUD (head-up display), enhanced
vision, CPDLC (controller-pilot data link communication), and a SMS (surface
management system) as options.
Other standard
Pro Line Fusion avionics featured on the Citation Columbus will be four
15-inch diagonal LCDs (liquid crystal displays); a MultiScan weather radar; an
IFIS (integrated flight information system) with electronic charts, enhanced
maps and graphical weather overlays; dual FMS (flight management systems) with a
WAAS (wide area augmentation system) that will support LPV (localizer
performance with vertical guidance) approaches and RNP (required navigation
performance); an advanced human-machine interface with graphical flight planning
capability; a traffic surveillance system with ADS-B (automatic dependent
surveillance-broadcast) capabilities; an auto throttle; and an IMS (information
management system) to manage aircraft databases and to facilitate wireless
interactivity with ground-based systems.
Other optional features for the Columbus, besides HUD, EVS, CPDLC and SMS, will include a Rockwell Collins'
predictive windshear weather radar, a second IFIS and a third FMS. 02-13-2008. |
