CSA Czech Airlines to Use SITA's Datalink
CSA Czech Airlines is
introducing air-ground datalink communications on its new Airbus A320 Family
aircraft after signing a contract with SITA, which is deploying three new
VHF ground stations in the Czech Republic.
SITA says CSA's decision
to adopt its
AIRCOM technology follows similar recent moves by Malev and WizzAir and
advances its usage among Central and Eastern European airlines, bringing
their number to 24.
Lufthansa and Austrian
have been long term SITA datalink customers in this part of Europe to
support flight and ground operations, maintenance, and flight-following and
ATC messages. Aircraft in their fleets equipped with satellite systems also
use SITA's air-ground voice service. Other SITA customers in the region
include the Zurich-based technical services company, SR Technics, and the
air navigation service providers, Germany's DFS and Switzerland's Skyguide.
SITA's three new AIRCOM
ground stations in the Czech Republic will bring the total number of VHF ground
stations east of Germany and Austria to 40. 04-20-2007. |
