COMSOFT to Integrate WAM and ADS-C into Eurocontrol's ARTAS COMSOFT will integrate WAM (wide area multilateration) and ADS-C automatic dependent surveillance-contract) into Eurocontrol's new ARTAS (air traffic management surveillance tracker and server system) to improve its tracking capability and coverage. Eurocontrol's next-generation ARTAS (version 8) will fuse WAM and ADS-C data with information from other sensors such as radar and ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) to optimize its overall performance and provide complementary surveillance for areas without radar coverage such as oceans. ARTAS is now being used by close to 30 civil and military administrations at more than 50 sites, according to COMSOFT. 10-05-2007. |
