CMC Electronics EVS Sensor Installed on AgustaWestland AW139

Edwards & Associates, a subsidiary of Bell Helicopter, has installed CMC Electronics' EVS (enhanced vision system) sensor on an Agusta Westland AW-139 helicopter for a corporate customer.

CMC's M-Series sensor gives the pilot a daytime-like image at night and in low-visibility situations.  The low-cost sensor weighs 2.2 lb and measures 2.4 inches by 2.5 inches by 6 inches in length, and its single LRU (line replaceable unit) can be installed on a helicopter fuselage or strut or in the tail fin or nose of an aircraft.

Edwards & Associates expects to receive an FAA STC (supplemental type certificate) for the AW-139 installation shortly.  03-11-2007.
