CAE to Acquire Flightscape

CAE has agreed to acquire Flightscape for approximately C$18 million. Flightscape is an Ottawa-based company with a suite of safety products and services covering flight operations quality assurance, flight data management, incident investigation and accident prevention.

Besides a number of airlines, Flightscape's clients include a majority of international investigation authorities and OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). It also powers IATA's web-based Flight Data Analysis Service which airlines can use to outsource a turnkey safety program.

CAE sees Flightscape's expertise on accident investigation and prevention as a "natural fit" with its training and simulation products, and believes this move "will accelerate our growth and enhance the products and services we are able to offer our customers."
