CAE Acquires Macmet Technologies

CAE has agreed to acquire Macmet Technologies, an Indian simulation company based in Bangalore, for approximately $5 million (Canadian) in cash.

"The acquisition of Macmet will provide greater access to India's growing market, and provide CAE additional capabilities to offer cost-effective entry-level training devices," said Marc Parent, CAE's group president of simulation products and military training and services.  Mr. Parent also noted that CAE recently announced plans to open a training center in Bangalore and would run two pilot training schools there.

Macmet has 90 employees and has been providing simulation products and services to the Indian market with simulation solutions for more than 10 years.

CAE already has approximately 150 engineers in Bangalore who are developing visual databases, aircraft systems and instructor support systems software, in addition to verifying and validating software.  07-18-2007.
