Bulgaria to Use COMSOFT ADS-B Ground Station in Benefit Evaluation
The Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority will use a COMSOFT ADS-B (automatic dependent
surveillance-broadcast) ground station to supply data as part of an evaluation
of the technology it is undertaking throughout 2008.
ATSA will use COMSOFT's first
Quadrant ADS-B ground station, including a control and monitoring system and
real time data presentation. The system has been installed at the ATSA building
in Sofia and complements surveillance data already being delivered from the
country's multiple radars.
The Quadrant station has been integrated with a suite of ATSA test components, including Eurocontrol's ARTAS
(air traffic management surveillance tracker and server) that will process ADS-B
reports along with radar data. COMSOFT also has provided a localized version of
its Quadrant Control and Monitoring System (QCMS) that can present data in real
time, as well as provide performance assessments from ADS-B ground stations.
