Boeing Business Jets to Offer Rockwell Collins EVS

Boeing Business Jets says it will offer its customers a Rockwell Collins' EVS (enhanced vision system) that should be certified by early 2008.

The EVS will incorporate a Max-Viz multi-wavelength infrared sensor into the Rockwell Collins HGS to present an image of the external environment, which will allow the pilot to descend below certain approach minimums, if the necessary references to the intended runway are visible.

The system will be available to BBJ customers through Boeing and Rockwell Collins service bulletins.  BBJ operators that install the EVS also will require an upgrade to their HGS 4000, according to Boeing and Rockwell.  01-12-2007.
