Boeing Awards Technical Offerability for AD Aerospace's Security System

Boeing has awarded AD Aerospace technical offerability for its cockpit security system that uses cameras to monitor the area outside the flight deck door, linked to MFDs (multi-function displays) in the cockpit.

The award pertains to using AD Aerospace's FlightVu systems on Boeing's 737, 747, 767 and 777 models.

FlightVu uses two to four cameras positioned to cover the areas outside of the flight deck door and the forward galley areas.  The camera images are presented to the pilots on MFDs that can be viewed from their normal seated positions using a configuration similar to AD Aerospace's EFB (electronic flight bag) CIU (camera interface unit) that is already offerable on Boeing aircraft.  01-14-2006.
