Blue Sky Network Adds Multi-Purpose Portable Unit to Product Line

Blue Sky Network has expanded it product line with a small carry-on flight-tracking device that provides real-time position reporting as well as continuous text messaging and short-code reporting.

The D2000MA/MDA device works in connection with Blue Sky Network's Web-based SkyRouter portal that easily integrates with Google Earth for asset tracking and communications. The onboard unit transmits reports (such as takeoff and landing) from the aircraft directly to the site for review by operations, dispatch, management or even customers.

The unit is approximately the size and weight of a car stereo, and according to Blue Sky, it both easily fits into small cockpits, and is ideally suited for transport between aircraft.  Because of its small size, the unit usually can be installed in less than a minute. Blue Sky says.

Also, because it can operate for 24 hours on a single battery charge, pilots with little or no access to electricity are still able to maintain communications.

Finally, because of its new-generation technology, the D2000MA/MDA offers operators the ability to monitor the locations of multiple aircraft.  03-01-2007.
