Blakey to Head Aerospace Industries Association
FAA Administrator Marion C. Blakey, whose five-year term at the FAA expires on
September 13, has been named president and CEO of the Aerospace Industries
Association (AIA), succeeding John W. Douglass, who held those same positions at
AIA since September 1998.
Prior to her coming to the FAA, Ms. Blakey chaired the U.S. National Transportation
Safety Board.
The AIA represents many of America's most prominent manufacturers and suppliers of
civil, military, and business aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles,
space systems, aircraft engines, materiel, and related components, equipment
services, and information technology.
Mr. Douglas will remain with the association through the end of the year to provide
counsel and ensure a smooth transition. 08-24-2007.
