Barco
Introducing New Simulation Display
Systems
Barco is
introducing a simulation display system
that can be used to upgrade existing
simulators and another to create a
continuous field-of-view for
applications such as ATC tower
simulators.
Barco's
new
SIM 5plus is a dedicated projection
platform that can replace CRTs in their
current location, along with older,
off-the-shelf non-simulation dedicated
projectors. The SIM 5plus is equipped
with a dual-lamp system for easy
replacement and maximum up-time, and
provides fast Ethernet connection to
centrally manage several simulators over
a LAN (local area network), with either
a personal computer or Barco’s
xRACU (remote alignment and control
unit).
HALO is a unique cylindrical
rear-projection system, developed by
Barco, which creates a continuous
blended field-of-view without the
distracting shadows produced by
front-projected displays, or
view-interrupting bezels typically found
in LCD panel systems. In addition, Barco
says it has optimized its projection
technology to better match color,
brightness, grayscale, and other visual
effects to maximize the simulation
experience.
