Barco Introducing New CDU with Modular Architecture

Barco is introducing a new version of its Control Display & Management System (CDMS) that features a modular open-system architecture which allows customers to develop and load their own applications.

The new CDMS-2MT, with its unique MOSArt platform, has been certified to level C on the Tupolev 204/214 and Ilyushin 96 in cooperation with the National Institute of Aircraft Equipment NIIAO, Barco says.

MOSArt is based on a computing kernel compliant with ARINC 653, the specification for space and time partitioning of multiple applications sharing a single processor.  According to Barco, with MOSArt, every partition can have a different criticality level, up to DO-178B Level A, which allows for a minimal certification cost.  The default real-time operating system is VxWorks PSC from Wind River Systems.  08-26-2007.
