Avidyne and Frasca Develop Simulator with Entegra Displays
Avidyne has partnered with Frasca International to develop a version of Fracas's Mentor simulator that features Avidyne's Entegra integrated flight deck system.
The Frasca Mentor with Avidyne Entegra has a 10.4-inch diagonal EXP5000 PDF (primary flight display) and EX5000 MFD (multi-function display).
The Mentor uses much of the same technology used in Frasca's higher level flight training devices and full-flight simulators, including an FAA-approved flight data package, Jeppesen Navdata, and full-size flight controls with rudder pedals and brakes. It also includes multi-channel sound simulation, Frasca's TruVision visual system with various options and Frasca's graphical instructor’s station (GISt), which gives instructors control of the simulator's outside environment and the ability to graphically map pilot performance. Lesson plans automatically control the Mentor by triggering events based on conditions such as time, altitude, and other factors.

According to Frasca, Mentor can be used to log up to 20 hours training for the FAA’s instrument rating, 2.5 hours for the private pilot certificate, 50 hours for the commercial pilot certificate, and 25 hours toward an ATP (airline transport pilot) certificate. It can also be used for instrument proficiency checks and the FAA's instrument rating practical test. 07-31-2005.
