Austrian Airlines to Use Boeing's Airplane Health Management
Austrian Airlines will
use Boeing's Airplane Health Management (AHM) system for its fleet of four
B-777-200ERs.
AHM gathers and evaluates an aircraft's condition in real-time, which
helps an airline's technicians manage unscheduled maintenance events, and
collect other information, including trends.
Boeing says the system
has particular benefits for Austrian because it shares aggregated data from
all AHM customers, thus allowing the experience of one airline to guide
repair decisions, based on history and fleet experience, at another airline
operating the same airplanes. About 28 percent of the world's B-777 fleet is
now being monitored by AHM.
Austrian began operating
777s in 1997. 03-29-2007. |
