Australia's New Aeronautical Message Handling System Operational
Airservices Australia's new AMHS (aeronautical message handling system), which
it implemented in cooperation with COMSOFT, is now operational.
AMHS transmits flight plans, meteorological data, NOTAMS (notices to airmen) and
other critical aviation data between aeronautical stations in standardized
formats.
COMSOFT's
AIDA-NG (aeronautical integrated data exchange agent - next generation),
which was originally developed for Eurocontrol as part of its ECG European
communication gateway) project is a central part of the new system. AIDA-NG
fully complies with the ATN (aeronautical telecommunications network)-based
requirements of the ICAO's Asia-Pacific members, according to COMSOFT.
This is the third AMHS project for COMSOFT in the Asia-Pacific region, after others in
the Philippines and Singapore. Another contract has been set up with India.
Airservices and COMSOFT started work on the project in May 2006, and the system received site
acceptance earlier this year. 07-18-2007. |
