Augusta A109 Fitted with Latitude Technologies Voice and Tracking System
The first U.S.-based Augusta A109 Grand Helicopter has been fitted with a Latitude
Technologies' Web-based satellite voice and tracking system, partly in
preparation for an around-the-world speed record attempt in a rotary-wing
aircraft.
Latitude describes its
SkyNode S200-021 system as "the smallest, lightest, most versatile, and
economical to operate, voice and two-way data communication device in the
world."
For the time being the aircraft will be based at Washington's Dulles airport and operated in the DC
area. Next spring, it will attempt to set an around the world helicopter speed
record with the help of the S200-021 tracking functions and Latitude's
Sentinel mapping and reporting system. 10-08-2007. |
