Asiana Airlines to Implement Jeppesen EFB Applications on B-777s
Asiana Airlines will use
Jeppesen's applications and data with its Boeing class-3 EFB (electronic flight
bag) on its three new B-777s, as well as Jeppesen's electronic distribution
system so that charts and other information can be accessed electronically by
ground-based operational personnel.
Besides Jeppesen's
e-Link, Asiana's EFB program includes
Jeppesen's standard terminal charts, airport moving map, onboard performance
tool, a document viewer, and Jeppesen's Data Distribution and Management system
that both manages its software configuration, and securely delivers its flight
critical data.
Ho-il Lee, Asiana's senior
vice president of OCC & Flight Operations, said that after the airline
implements the system on its new 777s, it "will evaluate expanding the EFB
program across our entire fleet." 06-30-2007. |
