Airbus to Certify ACSS T³CAS on All Air Transport Models

Airbus will certify ACSS's T³CAS surveillance system on all of its single-aisle and long range models from A318s to A340-500s and 600s.  T³CAS combines TCAS (traffic alert collision avoidance) technology with TAWS (terrain awareness warning system) capability and a Mode-S transponder into a single LRU (line replaceable unit).

With the integrated platform Airbus will be able to offer its customers a range of new ADS-B In (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) capabilities, such as ATSAW (air traffic situational awareness), which includes ITP (in-trail procedures).

The new transponder will be a software update to ACSS transponders currently fitted on Airbus fleets.  02-14-2008.
