AirTran Chooses Honeywell Avionics Systems for New B-737s
AirTran Airways has contracted with Honeywell to supply several important avionics systems on its new B-737s.
The Honeywell avionics systems include its
EGPWS (enhanced ground proximity warning system),
ACAS II (airborne collision avoidance system)
weather radar with forward-looking windshear detection, FDRs and CVRs
(flight data and cockpit voice recorders),
Quantum Line communications and navigation system,
ACARS (aircraft communications addressing and reporting system) and
FDAMS (flight data acquisition and management system).
In addition, Honeywell will provide maintenance services for all Honeywell equipment on AirTran's entire
fleet - up to 250 aircraft - including avionics, lighting, mechanical
components, APUs (auxiliary power units), wheels and brakes. 11-14-2007. |
