Air Berlin Selects Several Rockwell Collins Avionics Systems for New B-737NGs
Air Berlin has selected
several avionics systems from Rockwell Collins for its 85 new B-737NGs that
will begin arriving in April 2008, including the aircraft's hazard
detection system, MMR (multi-mode receiver), and passenger address unit.
Rockwell Collins says its
WXR-2100 MultiScan Hazard Detection System is the first and only weather
radar on the market which analyzes and determines actual weather hazards,
not simply atmospheric moisture content. It operates automatically, without
the need for pilots to adjust its tilt, for example, to provide optimal,
clutter-free weather detection from the nose of the aircraft out to 320
nautical miles. 04-08-2007. |
