Aeroflot Selects Teledyne Controls' EFB for A320s and B-767s
Aeroflot Russian Airlines has selected Teledyne Control's (electronic flight bag) for its A320s and B-767s,
encompassing 56 aircraft.
Teledyne will certify the
Class-2 EFB hardware installation for Aeroflot and supply its components,
along with associated aircraft installation kits, which should start this
summer. The ruggedized COTS (commercial off the shelf) equipment package
includes a PU (processor unit), a 10.4-inch tethered touch-screen display, and
associated mounts.
The Teledyne PU is based on standard PC component architecture and utilizes Microsoft Windows' operating
system to facilitate future upgrades and expansion. It also has a
"quick-release" mount system, allowing it to be easily installed and removed.
The display unit includes user controls for power and brightness, as well as a
USB (universal serial bus) port for portable devices, such as memory sticks,
CD-ROMs, and keyboards.
The Aeroflot aircraft will be equipped with two EFB systems, one for each pilot, so they can easily access
operational information, including Jeppesen navigation charts, in all phases of
flight. 05-05-2008. |
