AVTECH Acquires New B-737 NG Simulator for 4D Flight Research
Sweden-based AVTECH has acquired a B-737 NG (next generation) simulator that
will be used to conduct research and demonstrations on four-dimensional
trajectory (4DT) flight operations that includes time.
The new
Cockpitsonic simulator will be equipped with GE Aviation's latest FMS
(flight management system) equipment and will be certified to European Aviation
Safety Agency (EASA) FNPT (flight navigation procedures trainer) II level
standards. It will be located in a new facility at AVTECH's
headquarters, in Åkersberga north of Stockholm, in April. The facility will have
room for three simulators as well as support facilities for development and
evaluation.
AVTECH and GE Aviation have collaborated on
4DT development since 2004 when AVTECH's original AASES (airborne ATM
systems engineering simulator) development simulator was established. 03-02-2008. |
