ARINC and Starling to Offer Broadband Communications to More Biz Jets
ARINC Direct and Starling
Advanced Communication will jointly market Starling's fuselage-mounted
antenna systems to bring high-speed communications' capability to more
medium-and-large size business jets.
Currently, ARINC's
SKYLink service is limited to business aircraft that can accommodate a
mechanically steered tail-mount antenna. Under their new agreement, SKYLink
will be offered as well to business aircraft equipped with Starling's
MIJET and
MiniMIJET fuselage-mounted antenna systems, giving
thousands of additional business aircraft passengers access to Internet,
VPN (virtual private network),VoIP (voice over Internet protocol), email,
mobile phone, PDA (personal digital assistant), video conferencing and
instant messaging applications.
ARINC and Starling will
jointly develop and carry out service demonstrations, customer visits and
sales support. Robert Thompson, ARINC's senior director of satellite
services, says his company will offer the service in 2007. 12-05-2006. |
