ARINC Offering Slimmer Ku-Band Satellite Broadband Antenna
ARINC if offering a new,
slimmer Ku-band antenna designed for its SKYLink satellite broadband service
that should fit a broader range of airframes.
ViaSat supplies the avionics for the
SKYLink system and is conducting the modification and certification.
Only structural changes were made to the existing design, which has been
used successfully for more than two years. The base mount footprint and
support arm profiles were minimized, leaving performance specifications
unchanged.
According to ARINC, the
new antenna will fit the radomes of Dassault Falcon 50s, 900s and 2000s, as
well as Bombardier BD100s, Challengers, and the Global series. No
operational changes are associated with the new design, which has the same
connection speeds as the first-generation SKYLink antenna.
The antenna package is
currently undergoing DO 160E testing which is expected to be complete in
June. 05-24-2007. |
