ARINC Direct Simplifies APIS Reporting for Corporate Jets, Charters
ARINC Direct is streamlining its APIS (Advance passenger information system) reporting and verification services for
business aviation that it offers through a partnership with SecureTRANSIT.
Following their combination
announced in January, ARINC has integrated SecureTRANSIT's
APIScontrol and
APISadvisor Web-based applications into its standard flight services
portfolio, which ARINC says it will offer its customers at no additional
charge.
Bob Richard, an ARINC Direct's senior director
for business aviation solutions, says this coupling will give Direct's Part
135 customers the same APIS reporting and verification "only airlines could
afford until now."
APIS regulations now require cross-border
flights in North America to report the identities of all passengers and
crew. Fines for non-compliance start at $5,000 per infraction and can go as
high as $70,000 per flight. The U.S. CBP (Customs and Border Protection)
provides an APIS reporting interface, but many operators find it difficult
to use.
ARINC Direct's APIS service will automate the
manual tasks associated with collecting and manipulating passenger and crew
data and filing APIS reports, including validating, submitting, and tracking
the transmissions automatically. It also will scan the data against CBP
no-fly lists, and monitor "Ack" (acknowledgement) receipts, to give aircraft
operators a complete audit trail of APIS activity on every flight.
