ANA Getting Boeing's Class 3 EFBs on Three New B-777ERs
Boeing is installing its
class-3 EFB (electronic flight bag) on three new 777-300ERs being delivered
to ANA this year, the first of which went to the Japanese carrier in April.
ANA has taken delivery of
39 777s and has eight more on order. There was no mention in Boeing's
announcement of ANA's EFB intentions for its other 777s already received or
expected in the future.
The
Boeing class-3 EFB is integrated into an airplane's avionics and can
serve as a critical communications gateway between the airplane and an
airline's operations center and maintenance department on the ground.
Boeing says it has
recorded more than 1,000 total orders of its EFB since it was introduced for
sale in 2002, and has been sold for all of its in-production airliners,
including the 737NG, 747-400, 757, 767, 777s and 787. (The class- EFB comes
as standard equipment on the 787 Dreamliner). 05-11-2007. |
